I'm Sarah, and I've spent a decade doing the work that separates a good manuscript from a professional one. Copyediting and proofreading aren't glamorous, but they are the difference between a book that readers trust and one that quietly undermines itself on every page.
I work at two levels. First, the macro: internal consistency, voice coherence, continuity of character names, timelines, and facts. Then the micro: every comma, every hyphen, every sentence that stumbles even slightly. By the time a manuscript leaves my desk it is clean. Genuinely clean, not just spell-checked.
I'm fully fluent in Chicago Manual of Style, APA, MLA, and several house style guides developed by publishers I've worked with directly. I adapt completely to the conventions each project requires, and I flag inconsistencies rather than silently correcting them, because authors deserve to understand every change.
